Welcome to Guitar Class at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School!!

Goals and Objectives of Beginning & Advanced Guitar (I, II, III) with Mr. Glawe

The goals of the beginning guitar class are for each student to learn to play the classical (nylon stringed) guitar, to read music notation and guitar tablature, and to obtain a rudimentary to advanced understanding of various guitar-playing styles.  Those styles include blues, rock, folk and classical. Students will be expected to play scales, chords, and notes with correct rhythms while playing alone (solo playing) or with others (ensemble playing). The course is designed to be appropriate for the beginning player with little to no background in music and/or guitar.

Mr. Glawe's curriculum for Guitar class changes from term to term based on the needs of each individual class.  Below you will find some of the current musical lessons the current class is working on. For more detailed information about the Guitar curriculum at Pioneer HS, please contact Mr. Glawe or Ms. Martinez directly.
